Blennerhasset Island Bridge |
E.L. Robinson Engineering Co. was hired by Michael Baker Jr., Inc. to help design a bridge to cross the Ohio River and survey the area around Blennerhasset Island. The proposed bridge would be the largest suspension bridge to connect West Virginia and Ohio. Both firms have created a team to create a design that is functional, cost efficient and structurally sound.
Blennerhassett Island is a Historic State Park, located on the Ohio River, and was treated with expert caution when surveying and studying the area. E.L. Robinson Engineering Company's team of surveyors followed historic grounds procedures and the design team is accommodating the rules and regulations regarding historic places and landmarks.
The bridge is stages away from construction; however virtual design and schematic drawings make this suspension bridge closer to a reality.
