The Town of Sophia in Raleigh County, WV secured funding through the West Virginia Department of Highways and the T-21 Grant Program to improve the aesthetics of downtown and provide better pedestrian circulation throughout the area of Sophia. The Town of Sophia then retained E.L. Robinson (ELR) to develop a concept plan based on the wants and needs of the community. ELR further developed the design, then finalized construction documents for implementation of the concept plan. The project was bid and came in under budget. As ELR used unit costs in the bidding documents, additional sidewalks and street lighting will be added to this project. The project is currently in construction and should be completed in October of 2005.
