Warwood Neighborhood Plan |

E.L. Robinson worked with Hopeful City, a faith-based neighborhood-organizing group, to assist the Warwood Neighborhood of Wheeling in developing a neighborhood plan.
The Warwood Neighborhood is the second neighborhood in Wheeling to participate in a neighborhood planning process. The neighborhood is made up of mostly residential uses with some commercial and light industrial. Citizen concerns for the neighborhood focused primarily on the appearance of the current housing stock, opportunities for recreation, and the potential uses for existing vacant lots.
Issues that were addressed in the plan include:
- Strategies to maintain and improve the existing housing stock;
- Improving the economic health of the neighborhood;
- Alternative uses for the riverfront;
- Enhancing the visual character of the neighborhood;
- Determining costs and identifying funding sources for implementation.
